History & Location
Brooklyn is quickly becoming the go-to borough for dining and nightlife and many New Yorkers are leaving the expensive apartments in Manhattan to relocate to this hip borough, so it’s no surprise that many New Yorkers are choosing to get hitched in Brooklyn too! Conveniently located in Downtown Brooklyn, Deity Events is on Atlantic Avenue. The building is a former synagogue that was bought and renovated by Brooklyn husband and wife team Caio and Kristine who wanted to offer a unique event space in their neighborhood. The unique Brooklyn venue was also a popular nightclub for a few years and has been deemed an official NYC landmark!
For wedding clients that don’t live in Brooklyn or need a hotel to get ready in, Deity is within walking distance of several hotels including Nu Hotel, Aloft Hotel and the Brooklyn Hilton. Deity Events is less then 15 minutes from Brooklyn Bridge Park which is a great option for first looks and wedding photos. Our photographers and videographers have captured amazing photos and video in the popular area thanks to the NYC skyline views, cobblestone streets and industrial setting. The Brooklyn venue is close to most NYC subway trains making it a very convenient option for your wedding guest traveling from other parts of New York City.
The Space & Floor plan
You will be hard pressed to find a more unique wedding venue in Brooklyn and possibly all of New York City. Deity carefully curated their renovated floor plan to create a seamless flow on your wedding day, ensuring that your guests will be exactly where they need to be at each part of your wedding. With 3 main rooms, you and your guests get to experience three unique settings all in one night. Hosting your wedding at Deity is like getting 3 wedding venues in one!
The Loft: When you enter the venue through the arched wrought-iron gate your guests get an exciting glimpse of the steps to the cellar (that’s for later) and a peek at the lounge area through the 6 foot window above the stairs. Your guests are then ushered to the Loft for your wedding ceremony. The Loft is an open and airy space with hardwood floors and large windows. The front of the room (where you stand during your ceremony) features string lights and chiffon curtains that can be pulled back if desired. Deity works with each client to create the desired ambience and aisles can be lined with candles or flowers (or not at all). Our officiants always love performing ceremonies in the beautiful space! The Loft is a great backup plan for wedding day photos in case of rain and our photographers often capture family portraits in the space during cocktail hour. After cocktail the Loft serves as your space for dinner and is set up with round or rectangle tables based on each couples taste.
The Lounge: After you seal the deal, your guest are ushered down to the Lounge area for cocktails while the loft area is converted for dinner. The Lounge features a one-of-a-kind potted “tree of life” that steals the show and makes a dramatic impression in the room. Drop down screens and projectors are available and a great choice for featuring a slideshow of photos of you and your new spouse. The space also has a full bar, stained glass artwork and velvet banquette seating.
The Cellar: Once dinner is done, couples and their guests are ushered to the cellar for dancing and dessert. The DJ (which is included in your affordable wedding package with Deity) announces the new couple and gets the party started with the first dance. The space features hardwood floors and exposed brick, giving a wine cellar feel to the space (hence the name). Our popular photo booth (we offer another great discount on this add on) is set up by the DJ booth and offers an additional soure of entertainment for your guests and some pretty cool wedding favors! The main wall of the Cellar features a floor to ceiling mirror so you and your guests don’t miss any of the amazing dance moves that are sure to take place!
Bonus Space: If the Loft, Lounge and Cellar weren’t enough to sell you on this unique Brooklyn wedding venue, then the rooftop with jacuzzi and Bridal Suite will surely do the job!
Bridal Suite: Deity can give any luxury NYC hotel a run for their money with their Bridal Suite! One floor above the Loft, the bridal suite is offered as an overnight option for couples after their wedding or can be rented for a 12 hour window as well. The amazing space features 1700 square feet of space with luxury seating, a full kitchen, king size vintage bed and oversized copper bathtub.There is also a terrace with views of downtown Brooklyn. Rooftop: Every New York resident knows the value of a rooftop wedding venue with a view but throw in an in-ground jacuzzi and we are in heaven!! The private rooftop is accessible from a spiral staircase near the Bridal Suite and offers couples and their guests access to one of the most unique rooftops in NYC. Couples enjoy views of downtown Brooklyn with a covered lounge area and can be rented for small events as well.

Ok, we know what you are thinking, there is no way a venue this special can be affordable. New York is ranked as one of the most expensive places to get married, with the average NY wedding cost around $80K! So finding an affordable wedding venue in NYC is no easy task.
