Megan and Wesley
Megan and Wesley contacted our studio seeking a photography and video package with edited photos and wedding trailer to capture their big day. Our photographers and video team had a blast capturing the colorful spring wedding at the Prospect Park Picnic House and loved all the color details they included. Unique touches like handmade felt flowers and coordinating candy favor jars really personalized their wedding. It’s a DIY Brides’ dream come true!
Megan and Wesley knew they wanted their wedding day to be fun and casual. The Picnic House was the perfect choice for their reception. Offering a huge raw space that can be set up to fit each couples’ needs, the possibilities are endless. Megan was not afraid to use bright colors and had the catering team set up oval tables with white tablecloths to offset the napkins in various hues of yellow, fuchsia and blue. The centerpieces were a combination of pastel wild flowers , mason jars with candles and greenery placed on an oval mirror. Each guest also received a cute jar filled with M&M’s in colors that matched the napkins.
Our team met the couple in Grand Army Plaza for their first look. Megan was simply adorable in a white silk gown with bell skirt that flared out. Her red hair was styled in romantic waves and swept to the side. She chose a bird cage veil with tulle added for fullness. Her unique Bridal bouquet featured hand made felt flowers in pinks, blues and oranges (great idea for Brides who want to save their bouquet) . Her groom wore a blue suit with bright blue tie and fun polka dot socks to go with the fun colorful theme of their wedding. His boutonniere was also made from felt and looked great!
After taking a stroll through the park and sharing a few kisses, the happy couple and our team headed over to Prospect Park to meet the wedding party for more photos. The bridesmaids wore blue dresses and also had personalized felt flower bouquets. The guys wore blue suits to match the groom and also sported the fun polka dot socks!
Their ceremony took place outdoors on the lawn of the park under a wooden hand made arch decorated with embroidery hoops with lace fabric (another great DIY project!) The best man officiated the ceremony and really personalized their ceremony to reflect their love story. After being pronounced Husband and Wife everyone headed inside for cocktails.
The couple started the reception with their first dance and enjoyed speeches from their parents. The party went well into the night and everyone had a great time.
We were honored to be a part of their big day and capture beautiful wedding photos and video for them to cherish for a lifetime!
