Queens, New York Elopement
In the 19th century American weddings were typically small gatherings held at the home of the bride or grooms parents. Family and friends would gather to offer their well wishes and advice to the couple before sending them off to their new home as husband and wife. Throughout the years weddings have morphed into the very elaborate (and expensive) traditions of today. However many couples are choosing to keep their big day…well ..small!
One of the great things about living and loving in NYC are the endless list of choices for ways to celebrate your wedding. Love heights? Try Top of the Rock… Outdoor enthusiast? Try Central Park… Travelers? ..How about Grand Central… or if none of those appeal to you….avoid the crowd and get married at home!
That’s what our awesome clients Fiona & Kevin did. They wanted an intimate gathering of family and friends to help them celebrate their Pakistani wedding. They got ready together and decorated the backyard in their favorite colors, put up a tent in case of rain and partied the night away!
Young and old were able to attend the backyard elopement and even the local ice cream truck stopped to provide dessert! There was live traditional music and great food. Having a backyard wedding doesn’t mean it’s not formal! Fiona wore a flattering ivory wedding dress and Kevin wore a black suit, the guest dressed to impress as well and even their puppy put on a bowtie! Our team had a blast celebrating with the newlyweds and loved how relaxed everything was. It was the perfect choice for this beautiful couple.
