NYC Same Sex Wedding
Nothing says cool and casual like a pair of Chuck Taylors and personalized white sweat suits, so it was no surprise that this same sex couple, Judene & Rose, wasn’t nervous at all about jumping the broom! We met the pair through their wedding planner. She let us know from the beginning that this intimate elopement was going to be unique and a blast for everyone that attended; and boy was she right!
Our photographers started with the brides at their Brooklyn Brownstone, as they got ready for the big day. They wore matching sweat suits with the word “BRIDE” personalized on the back (so cute!) They walked over to their wedding venue (also their new home) together as a marching band serenaded them and also let everyone in the neighborhood know that a celebration was taking place! We love when couples get married at their homes! It provides a very comfortable and intimate atmosphere that you just don’t get in a typical wedding venue.
Judene & Rose posed for portraits on the rooftop and shared intimate moments before the festivities started. Before the ceremony, they changed into sleek white bridal suits and the flower girls and ring bearer (wearing personalized t-shirts also!) set the stage before the procession. The brides recited personal vows to each other and surprised all the guests with a “We’s Married Now” announcement under their jackets!
Afterwards personal friends of the couple sang songs and danced to honor their union. The DJ (also a personal friend) kept the party rocking late into the night. The food was delicious and the drinks were plentiful, it’s obvious this couple knows how to throw a party!
Our team was honored to be a part of their big day and wish them all the best!
