45 Downing

45 Downing, one of two event venues operated by Green Mansions Catering, is the perfect choice for smaller weddings (the venue is able to accommodate up to 80 guest). Housed in a private townhouse in the Village, it boosts an eclectic blend of sculptures, paintings and even a large antique bathroom decorated with stained glass windows.

Split into two levels, the top floor offers a Garden room with plant lined walls and Victorian style seating. Separated by a grand staircase, the lower level Great Room has hardwood floors and a fully stocked bar.

Formerly the Alger House, 45 Downing is the perfect choice for couples seeking an elegant wedding venue for their big day. The two-level space features a spacious ballroom, a one-of-a-kind indoor garden room with fireplace (perfect for getting ready photos) and antique decor. Our photographers have always loved working at 45 Downing and were thrilled to return for Naomi and Brendan’s celebration. The adorable couple exchanged vows on the main level of the space followed by newlywed photos on the upper level where our photographers took full advantage of the beautiful backdrops of eclectic art work and vintage furnishings. Our photographers love the tree lined streets and historic brownstones and often suggest Washington Square Park for beautiful bride and groom photos (only a short walk from 45 Downing). There is nothing quite like a NYC wedding in the summer time! The streets are bustling with pedestrians, commuters and tourist from all over the world. Kids are playing in the fire hydrants to cool off, yellow taxis and motorcycles are zooming by and even becoming part of the portraits of this adorable couple! Our photographers always have a blast following our couples through the city streets on their big day. Christine and Thomas took full advantage of all the excitement and amazing weather this past June and became husband and wife at The Alger House in the West Village. Our photographers love shooting in this area and it’s an easy commute from our downtown Brooklyn location. Jennifer and Jason’s wedding at 45 Downing was a pleasure to capture. They chose the venue for it’s antique décor and the all-inclusive wedding package offered by Green Mansions Catering. The area is also home to other unique venues like, The Ramscale Studio (just a few blocks away). They offer a rooftop for your ceremony and a raw loft space for your reception. Truly one of the most unique weddings our team has seen, this Rock and Roll themed celebration was a blast to capture! Our photographer and videographer joined the adorable couple at Alger House to capture their surprise wedding brilliantly disguised as a 60’s music concert. The venue was decorated with a variety of Beatles memorabilia and payed homage to some of the couples’ favorite bands and artist like The Rolling Stones and Jimi Hendrick. Our first surprise wedding, the guest had no idea that Debbie & Derek would be tying the knot. Instead of rings they exchanged apple watches and brought a “touch of the future to their past”. The Le Image team was privileged to join Katie and Spencer this past January as they exchanged vows in the acclaimed Alger House. This beautiful Asian American brunch wedding at the 45 Downing was a pleasure to capture. Our photography team joined Debbie & Brian at the downtown Manhattan location for a day filled with laughter, tears and great music. Debbie included pops of yellow throughout the venue (and in her bouquet) and the couple created DIY details in their décor that gave their wedding a rustic feel. The hand made card box decorated with photos of the Bride and Groom’s travel adventures and the vintage lace “Here comes the Bride” sign were adorable! Our photographers love the set up in this venue. There are two levels connected by an iron staircase that the Bride used for her entrance into the ceremony. Everything about this spring wedding was perfect. Be sure to check it out!
