Brietta and Anthony
Everyone loves the summertime. Kids get out of school and head for the pools, New York commuters get to pack away those heavy coats and snow boots and of course engaged couples all over the city plan their outdoor wedding ceremonies. But how do you (and your guests) stay cool and comfortable when the temperatures rise? Here are a few tips on making sure your summer wedding is perfect!
Humidity proof your hair & makeup: Brides spend upwards of 500 or more for their wedding day hair and makeups. Make sure your curls don’t flop and your mascara doesn’t run before you reach the altar by using anti-frizz and moisture resistant products for your hair and keeping blotting papers in nearby for your face. One of our popular elopement package add ons include a hair and makeup artist that come to your hotel make sure you are picture perfect no matter the weather.
Keep yourself (and guests) hydrated! Be sure to talk to your venue about having ice-cold water available for your guests. Adding in cucumbers or lemons for a little flavor goes a long way when your guests are sitting outdoors waiting for your ceremony to start. Having a signature-frozen drink or cocktail at your reception is also a great idea for keeping everyone happy!
Check with your caterer about food preservation: If your summer wedding reception is indoors then you probably don’t have to worry about your food being kept at the proper temperatures. However, if you and your guests are staying outdoors after your ceremony be sure to check with the caterer on exactly how they will keep your food fresh to prevent spoilage.
Our photography and video team had the honor of capturing the beautiful summer wedding of Brietta and Anthony at the Dyker Golf Beach course in Brooklyn. Our team started with the Bride as she got ready at home and awaited her groom. According to Chinese tradition, the groom is required to play a few games with the family and wedding party before being allowed to see his Bride.
The petite Bride wore a stunning strapless gown with full skirt and beaded bodice. Her Groom wore a grey three-piece suite to coordinate with the wedding party. The bridesmaids were beautiful in lavender dresses and the guys kept it classic in black tuxedos.
Dyker Beach Golf Course offers beautiful grounds for photos and even lends couples a golf cart to get around the course. A popular option amongst modern day couples; Anthony and Brietta took all their portraits before guests arrived so they could attend their cocktail hour.
The ceremony took place outdoors under the gazebo. After being pronounced Husband and Wife everyone headed inside for some cool air and refreshments. The newlyweds did a quick outfit change for their tea ceremony and then joined their guests for the reception.
Our photography and video team had a blasts working with this couple. Their photos came out beautiful and their traditional style wedding video is a perfect reflection of their love story.
We wish them all the best!
