Jacqueline and Dan
New York City is full of the rich history of millions of people coming to our shores in search of a better life. With bustling neighborhoods like Chinatown and Little Italy it’s evident that these transplant New Yorkers are keeping their culture alive and offering our city a diversity that is unmatched! While immigrants coming to the US no longer enter New York through Ellis Island (it closed in 1954) many of our great grandparents did. It’s estimated that the island welcomed nearly 12 million new comers over a span of 60 years. Given the history of the island as a place to start a new life its no wonder so many couples choose to say “I Do” to their new futures together by hosting their wedding at the venues on Ellis Island.
The venue offers breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline with indoor and outdoor options for your ceremony, an exclusive concierge to plan and cater your event and of course a magical ferry ride for you and your guests to get to the island wedding!
Jacqueline and Dan chose a 2 photographer/2 videographer package to make sure every special moment of their big day was captured. We worked closely with the Bride to fine tune all aspects of the wedding day timeline to coordinate the large wedding party.
The first team started with the Bride as she got ready at Andaz Hotel located on Wall Street. The couple chose the hotel for its convenient location to Battery Park and the ferry to the island. We loved the unique wedding invitation featuring the Statue of Liberty and save the date card with an old black and white photo of Ellis Island. The photographers and videographers were sure to capture all the beautiful details like the gold earrings, Tiffany wedding bands and silk red pumps the Bride chose.
Jacqueline’s dress was to die for! The skirt featured layered tiers of flowing chiffon and a lace overlay for the top which she later removed for a strapless look. The bridesmaid joined the Bride for a champagne toast and cute photos of their customized flip flops!
The second team joined after capturing the groom getting ready and they all met for the first look on Wall Street. After taking the ferry over to the island Jacqueline and Dan took a few photos in the Great Hall and the wedding party joined them for photos by the water. The outdoor ceremony was set up on the lawn in front of the entrance to the National Monument. It’s said that rain on your big day is actually good luck and the happy couple and their guests stayed in good spirits in spite of the short shower.
After being pronounced married everyone headed inside for the reception. The tables were decorated with tall centerpieces and fresh floral arrangements. The couple was ushered in with cheers from their friends and family and had their first dance as Husband and Wife. The videographer did a great job of capturing all the funny and sentimental speeches and creating a cinematography style wedding trailer and edited video for the couple to cherish forever.
We were so honored to be a part of their big day and visit this historic location in NYC. We wish them a lifetime of happiness.
