Brittni and Joshua
Our wedding photographers love capturing weddings like this. A laid back Bride & Groom, unique venue, good music, great food and guests who know how to have a good time! Brittni & Joshua contacted our studio seeking an affordable photography package to celebrate their big day. We met the pair at their venue Houston Hall to get started.
Houston Hall is a large Beer Garden located in the West Village section of Manhattan. The large space features five skylights offering beautiful natural lighting and a spacious dressing room overlooking the hall for the Bride to get ready in ! Houston Hall can accommodate up to 200 guests for a seated dinner and customize each menu based on your tastes and budget. The Bride and Groom chose to do a first look and we captured some great photos of the two at the Hall before the ceremony. Their custom J&B initial sign provided the perfect backdrop. (the color theme was ivory, gold and black!)
Brittni wore a white sheath wedding gown and elegant drop earrings. Her hair was styled in a partial updo and her make up was done by Verve on Location, a on location bridal hair and makeup service. The bridal bouquet , created by NYC-based Bastille Flowers was an arrangement of wild flowers in hues of ivory and deep purple! Her soon-to-be Hubby wore a navy tuxedo with black silk lapel and bow tie.
We loved all the personal touches like their handmade escort cards that featured gold lettering on black stationary paper, the wedding Chuppah was created with ivory ribbons strung from the ceiling and decorated with fresh flowers! It was a beautiful contrast agaisnt the brick wall.
Her bridesmaids wore navy blue dresses and fresh floral corsages wrapped around their wrist with burlap instead of a bouquet (great idea!) Brittni was escorted down the aisle by her mother and father and she exchanged vows with Joshua in a Jewish ceremony. Afterwards their guests congratulated the happy newlyweds and joined them for cocktails. The reception tables were decorated with gold numbers with lights just like their personalized initial sign or burlap frames with the table number (how cute) . The centerpieces were simple vases with fresh roses and we loved their unique “Wish Jar” a mason jar with wish tickets, allowing the guests to write their well wishes on each ticket and leave for the couple!
The live band, Tyrone Stackhouse got the party started with old school Motown inspired songs and the guests enjoyed our open air photo booth! Our photo booth comes with the backdrop (the couple choose gold to match their theme) all the fun props and customized prints with the couples name and wedding date.
The happy couple enjoyed funny speeches from their guests and gave pickles as favors (which we loved!) before cutting their one layer custom cream wedding cake topped with “Best Day Ever” wedding cake topper , which pretty much sums it up perfectly!
We were so honored to be a part of it all and wish them a liftime of happiness!
