Josephine and Heidi
Josephine and Heidi started out as friends after meeting in college. The friendship soon turned into romance so they started dating and the rest is history! Like most couples they had their share of challenges but remained best friends and created an unconditional love that made them want to spend the rest of their lives together. They contacted our studio seeking a photography and video package to capture the joyous occasion.
They planned to wed in Brooklyn at Maison May event venue. Alice Soloway, a long time friend of Le Image and also former client (we captured her big day at Brooklyn Winery!) officiated their wedding ceremony while our photographers and videographer captured it all.
We started with the ladies at they got ready in a townhouse in Brooklyn on different floors (smart idea!) Josephine chose a ivory colored lace wedding gown and white open toe heels with ribbon accent. Heidi chose a blue suit with bow tie and suspenders. Our videographer captured the two as they read love letters to one another before before their first look. Both brides had a hard time keeping the tears back as you will see in their video trailer!
Josephine’s bridal bouquet was a beautiful arrangement of roses in yellow, white and orange hues. The couple met in front of the house and our photographer captured a few portraits before heading over the the venue.
Maison May, also a restaurant offering the Fort Greene neighborhood brunch, lunch and dinner options, offers their entire space for private events or just the parlor floor for smaller weddings. The all white décor offers clients the flexibility of really customizing the space to fit their needs.
Josephine and Heidi spent some time together in the venue before guests arrived for a few more photos before the ceremony started. Their ceremony decor included rustic elements like vines draped from the sheer curtains on the parlor floor and wooden “Here Comes the Bride” and “Here comes the Other Bride” signs (such a cute idea for same sex couples!). The fun signs were carried by adorable “groomsmen” in vest, suspenders and converse!
Alice wrote a beautiful ceremony highlighting the special love shared between the Brides and from their family before ushering them into matrimony. After wards everyone enjoyed cocktails on the main floor while our photographer captured the centerpieces made from wild flowers and roses. The guests wrote well wishes to the newlyweds on wooden jenga blocks and placed them in a glass bowl. Their wedding cake was a “naked cake” (a cake with minimal frosting) topped with a wooden “love birds” topper . They also offered an assortment of cookies and brownies with paper bags for the guests to enjoy later.
The night was filled with great speeches and dancing and everyone had a blast. We were honored to be a part of this Brooklyn wedding and our photographer and videographer loved capturing it all. We wish them lifetime of happiness!
