Metropolitan Building

Originally an electrical parts factory, Metropolitan Building remained vacant and destitute for many years until antique furniture business-owner, Eleanor Ambos, bought the building to house her extensive collection. She initially offered the space to fellow artisans as a workspace but the venue quickly gained popularity and was eventually transformed into a popular wedding destination!

Offering four (4) floors of space, the venue is the perfect choice for couples seeking an eclectic and creative space to exchange vows. Each floor offers a unique atmosphere including chandeliers, hand painted floors, exposed brick and large windows. The 3rd floor houses the venue’s props and couples are allowed an hour in the space for portraits.

In house catering is offered and the menu is customized for each client. Couples are allowed to bring in their own caterer for small fee, however utilizing the venue’s in house caterer includes all linens, tableware and wait staff!

Easily accessible by public transportation, this Long Island City destination also opens their space for film and photo shoots. Be sure to check them out!

Our photography and video team loved this Metropolitan Building wedding so much we featured it on our NYC wedding photography page! The vintage style wedding venue was the perfect location for Elizabeth and Samuels romantic wedding aesthetic! The gorgeous bride wore a strapless wedding gown with a blusher veil and looked stunning next to her groom who sported a navy blue suit! The adorable couple decided to do first look wedding photos and took full advantage of the venue’s space which include access to vintage furniture, floor to ceiling windows and spiraling staircases. Our photography team knew Mariah and Elisaul’s wedding was going to be great after working with the adorable couple for their Central Park engagement shoot. Metropolitan Building may be one of the most unique wedding venues in NYC. Often booked for photo and film shoots, the Long Island City wedding venue offers three levels of space which this adorable couple took full advantage of. The Metropolitan Building in Long Island City offers the perfect blend of industrial chic with a vintage flair for your NYC wedding. The unique space gives couples like Jacqueline and Chris access to several floors and props (used for films that are shot at the venue) that can be used in their wedding photography . The ornate details, high ceiling and original brick walls make this Queens wedding venue the perfect choice for couples who want a unique space for their big day. Our photographers did a great job capturing Jacquelin and Chris’ wedding celebration at the Metropolitan building which included a beautiful Jewish ceremony followed by a fun reception (complete with a Horah, a Traditional Jewish wedding dance, of course!)
