Our photography and video team loved this Metropolitan Building wedding so much we featured it on our NYC wedding photography page! The vintage style wedding venue was the perfect location for Elizabeth and Samuels romantic wedding aesthetic! The gorgeous bride wore a strapless wedding gown with a blusher veil and looked stunning next to her groom who sported a navy blue suit! The adorable couple decided to do first look wedding photos and took full advantage of the venue’s space which include access to vintage furniture, floor to ceiling windows and spiraling staircases. Originally an electrical parts factory, Metropolitan Building remained vacant and destitute for many years until antique furniture business-owner, Eleanor Ambos, bought the building to house her extensive collection. She initially offered the space to fellow artisans as a workspace but the venue quickly gained popularity and was eventually transformed into a popular wedding destination!
Offering four (4) floors of space, the venue is the perfect choice for couples seeking an eclectic and creative space to exchange vows. Each floor offers a unique atmosphere including chandeliers, hand painted floors, exposed brick and large windows. The 3rd floor houses the venue’s props and couples are allowed an hour in the space for portraits.
In house catering is offered and the menu is customized for each client. Couples are allowed to bring in their own caterer for small fee, however utilizing the venue’s in house caterer includes all linens, tableware and wait staff!
Easily accessible by public transportation, this Long Island City destination also opens their space for film and photo shoots. Be sure to check them out!
This floral inspired wedding celebration at Metropolitan Building was beautiful! Our photography team knew Mariah and Elisaul’s wedding was going to be great after working with the adorable couple for their Central Park engagement shoot. Metropolitan Building may be one of the most unique wedding venues in NYC. Often booked for photo and film shoots, the Long Island City wedding venue offers three levels of space which this adorable couple took full advantage of. The Metropolitan Building in Long Island City offers the perfect blend of industrial chic with a vintage flair for your NYC wedding. The unique space gives couples like Jacqueline and Chris access to several floors and props (used for films that are shot at the venue) that can be used in their wedding photography . The ornate details, high ceiling and original brick walls make this Queens wedding venue the perfect choice for couples who want a unique space for their big day. Our photographers did a great job capturing Jacquelin and Chris’ wedding celebration at the Metropolitan building which included a beautiful Jewish ceremony followed by a fun reception (complete with a Horah, a Traditional Jewish wedding dance, of course!) This Metropolitan Building wedding video includes great footage of this popular Long Island wedding venue and beautifully showcases Anna and Nick’s big day! The speeches given by friends and family of the bride and groom chronologize how the two fell in love and what ultimately led them to the altar (and the dancefloor at Metropolitan Building)! Our photo and video team captured the adorable pair as they prepped for their big day, exchanged vows in a Catholic wedding ceremony and celebrated with family and friends at the Metropolitan Building (we love the newlywed photos on the prop floor). Couples spend countless hours researching, browsing and debating options for wedding décor. According to an article featured on the popular wedding blog, “Women Getting Married”, one of the things Brides regret spending so much money on is the ceremony and reception décor. Booking a venue like the Long Island City based, Metropolitan Building, means having access to an eclectic collection of antique furniture and props for your big day, saving you tons of time and money! Our photography and video team recently had the honor of capturing the wedding of Denise and Paulino in this unique space, check it out!View the gallery
