Allison and Erica
Members of the LGBT community everywhere rejoiced last year when the nation-wide law was passed to legalize same sex marriage. NYC residents had received the right a few years prior and our photography and video team were excited to share in the love stories of not only gay and lesbian New Yorkers deciding to jump the broom but same sex couples who flocked to the city from other states (and countries) to take advantage of the Marriage Equality Act passed here.
One of the couples that reached out to our studio, Allison and Erica were ecstatic about the opportunity and wanted our photographers and videographers to capture every special moment of their big day.
They were planning a beautiful rooftop fall wedding on Columbus Day weekend (a very popular weekend for weddings since most of your guest have the following Monday off!) at the upscale Midtown Loft and Terrace in Manhattan.
Our team started the pair as they prepped at The Carlton Hotel on Madison Avenue. Erica wore an elegant ivory sheath gown with crystal-embellished belt and Allison donned a grey tuxedo with suspenders for a touch of style. The soon to be newlyweds love the city and headed over to Grand Central for portraits after their first look in the lobby of the hotel.
The brides became partners for life before their family and friends in a Jewish rooftop ceremony at the venue. Unseasonably warm for an October wedding, the photographer took full advantage of the amazing natural light from the rooftop and city skyline. Afterwards everyone headed inside for a fun reception. Their wedding trailer really captured the fun and loving nature of their relationship and the included some canny advice from their guest (Erica is always right!)
All in all their wedding day was perfect and we were honored to be a part of it! We wish them a lifetime of happiness.
