Sarah and Kenta
We love capturing multicultural wedding celebrations! Witnessing the rich traditions of a variety of cultures, the fusing of two lives and backgrounds is always an honor for our photography team. As was the case with the beautiful Prospect Park wedding of Sarah and Kenta, joining Jewish and Japanese cultures in an amazing wedding day celebration.
Our photographer started with the beautiful Bride as she got ready at the lower east side hotel, Ludlow Hotel. The modern hotel offers studio’s, lofts and penthouses offering great city views and floor to ceiling windows. Sarah looked great in a strapless lace gown. She paired her dress with gold pumps and a lace overlay. Her hair was styled in a romantic bun adorned with a gold clip.
A short walk away, her groom, Kenta waited for her at his family’s Japanese bar and eatery, Bar Goto. Sarah and her sister (keeping her train out of harms way) made their way over to the bar for their first look. Kenta looked great in a blue suite andgold tie to complement his future wife’s accessories. The Bride and Groom took a few portraits in Prospect Park before joining their guests at the Picnic House.
More and more couples (at the delight of their guests) are offering the “cocktail hour” before the ceremony. Tea and coffee with breakfast pastries were served, as the couple got ready for their ceremony.
The elevated stage in the Picnic House is often utilized for indoors ceremonies as well as hosting the DJ or live wedding band for couples getting married in Prospect Park. It offers a great view for all the guests to see the vows clearly. Friends of Sarah and Kenta held a rustic Chuppah on the stage over a table with traditional Japanese tea setting for their fusion of Jewish and Japanese wedding traditions.
The Bride made her entrance serenaded by a violin with her mother and father, as did the Groom with his parents. The mother of the groom wore a beautiful Kimono, a traditional Japanese dress worn in everyday culture and at special occasions.
Sarah and Kenta took their vows, and were pronounced Husband and Wife. They enjoyed touching speeches from their family and friends before enjoying lunch. Still having the rest of the day to celebrate, the newlyweds headed over to Tooker Alley after being sent off with a ribbon recessional outside the Picnic House.
There they enjoyed more drinks and food wit their immediate family and wedding party. Our team was honored to be a part of their beautiful celebration and wish them a lifetime of happiness!
