Victoria and Lawrence
Most millenials kringe at the idea of giving up high speed internet, texting and streaming for a day, but that’s exactly what Old Bethpage Village restoration asks you to do when visiting their living history museum! The venue offers a unique opportunity to step back in time and experience the way Long Island residents lived in the 19th century. The village consists of historic houses, barns and buildings that give visitors the chance to make candles, shap clay into pots and enjoy root beer while taking in the scenery.
For couples seeking a rustic space to exchange vows, The Barn at Old Bethpage is available for private events as well. A replica of the original building built in 1860, the barn can accommodate up to 300 guests. Newlyweds and their guests get access to the grounds and the venue even offers event planning with in-house catering (be sure to check out their old fashion reception menu to continue the vintage theme! )
Our photographers love capturing unique weddings like this and Victoria and Lawrence’s big day turned out perfect! We started with the Bride and Groom for portraits outdoors. Victoria was stunning in a vintage wedding dress with lace overlay. She styled her hair in romantic waves and chose a simple bouquet of babies breath! Her groom wore black suspenders and bow tie and classic hightop chucks to keep the “old school” theme going.
The outdoor ceremony took was simple yet elegant and the personal vows written by the two had everyone in tears! Afterwards the party moved indoors to the barn where cathedral ceilings and rustic elements like wine barrels and a beautiful cast iron fountain took everyone back in time. Their vintage wedding was a success and we were honored to be a part of their love story!
