Julie and Mike
There is no shortage of wedding dress choices for Bride’s-to-be to choose from! Wedding gown styles is probably the first thing you will Google after accepting your proposal! Whether you are tall and thin, have a curvy hourglass shape, petite or full figured, there is a flattering fit out there for you! However, adorning a full-length dress with a train and other underpinnings necessary to keep you camera ready all day can propose a few challenges! Our photography and video team have seen a few brides struggle to perform some pretty basic tasks once they get buttoned/tied/zipped up. Be sure to work out the details of getting around in your dress before your big day with these few tips.
Take a trip to the bathroom. Wedding day jitters may send you the ladies room a few times during your big day. Not to mention the 4-hour open bar at the reception. So be sure to figure out the logistics of “going” beforehand so you know if you will need a hand!
Have a Dance Party! Once you’ve said your “I Do’s” and taken your portraits it’s time to party! Most wedding dresses come with a detachable train making it easier to cut a rug when the time comes. Be sure to try on your dress and dance around the house with your girlfriends before the big day to make sure you can bust a move without busting your … bottom.
Find the perfect bra. Going strapless or choosing a halter-top for your gown? Either way you are going to need the right bra to keep your assets supported and appropriated covered. The last thing you want to do is tug at your bra all day or worry that you might have some unfortunate “slippage” while you and your bridesmaids do the dougie!
Our photography and video team had the honor of capturing the beautiful rustic destination wedding of Julie and Mike at The Barns of Wesleyan Hills located in Middletown Connecticut. We got to work with the couple before hand when they added a fun engagement shoot to their wedding photography and video package.
We started with the couple, as they got ready for their ceremony at the Inn at Middletown hotel. The beautiful Bride was stunning in her strapless sweetheart neckline gown and clearly very comfortable! Her groom, Mike was clean cut in a grey tuxedo and bow tie. The couple exchanged gifts before heading to St. Sebastian Church for a beautiful Catholic ceremony. After being announced Husband and Wife our photography and video team captured some intimate and fun portraits of the newlyweds and their wedding party on the grounds of the venue.
The venue offers panoramic views, customizable menus with farm-to-table cuisine and reception space in a 150-year old dairy barn. A local destination-wedding venue, The Barns at Wesleyan Hills is only a 2-hour drive from NYC. It’s the perfect choice for couples seeking a rustic setting at an affordable price. The venue also offers outdoor ceremony space and can customize the Barn in a rustic chic décor with stringed lighting and drapery.
Julie and Mike’s evening ended with a touching speeches and great music before the Bride and Groom were sent off with sparklers to start their new lives together. We were honored to be a part of their big day and wish them a lifetime of happiness!
