Sherry and Rick
We appreciate each and every couple that trusts us enough to be part of one of the most important days of their lives and when we have the opportunity to learn about their love story and how they made it to the alter it makes it even more special!
Sherry and Rick contacted our studio seeking a photography and video package with an engagement shoot to capture their big day. Engagement shoots are a great way to get some posing practice in before the wedding and also get familiar with your photography team. The soon-to-be’s did their first engagement shoot on one of the coldest days of winter and decided they wanted to do a secondary shoot in the spring to take advantage of the natural lighting (they later used the spring photos at their wedding on a customized wooden board).
For the big day, our team started at The Westin Hotel in Morristown, NJ for the getting ready process. Both of Chinese descent, Sherry and Rick’s wedding included traditional Chinese traditions.
Sherry dressed in a beautiful red and gold outfit for the first part of her wedding day. The traditional Chinese bridal gown featured intricate embroidery details of golden dragons and flowers. (Red is considered a lucky color). While she got ready, Rick was put to the test by the Bridesmaids with a variety of games to prove he was worthy of receiving his Bride! After wards (keeping with tradition) the couple presented their elders with gifts and received blessings before the Bride returned to her room to change.
Sherry’s second dress was a beautiful ivory strapless gown that flattered her figure perfectly! Her groom awaited her at the venue and they had their first (teary-eyed) look in the garden. Our photographer captured some intimate portraits of the two alone and with their wedding party and family.
The Manor offers a breathtaking outdoor space for ceremonies in the warmer seasons. The aisle is made up of several floral arches that give the lucky Bride a one of a kind entrance! After the heart felt ceremony (even the groom got chocked up) everyone headed inside for the reception.
The ballroom was decorated beautifully and featured purple lighting to set the mood. The newlyweds had their first dance to get the party going and enjoyed touching speeches from their guests.
Everyone (including our photographer and videographer) had a great time and we think their photos and wedding trailer came out great! We wish them many more decades of friendship and love!
