Fort Greene Park Elopement
If you are on the fence about whether or not you want to have a full wedding with all the bells and whistles or want to keep it simple and go the elopement route, David and Bora’s cool Brooklyn elopement photography may have you leaning towards the latter!
Elopement weddings have come a long way from the secret wedding vow exchanges in Vegas that many people associate with eloping. Intimate weddings or “elopements” have evolved into a more deliberate curation of a couple’s favorite places, things and people! The “micro wedding” trend has even extended to large wedding venues throughout NYC that now offer affordable packages for smaller celebrations for couples that may still want a traditional wedding venue with an intimate wedding feel. (check out this Brooklyn-based venue that has micro wedding packages)
Of course the tried and true NYC elopement in a park or a City Hall wedding is still a favorite amongst couples and you can even combine the two like this beautiful Bride and her groom did! David and Bora contacted our studio after booking their wedding ceremony at the Brooklyn Municipal Building and wanted an hourly elopement package for newlywed photos in Fort Greene Park and at their private dinner celebration at a restaurant later that evening.
Fort Greene Park provided a beautiful backdrop for their wedding photos and we loved the cool vibe of the stylish Bride who sported an elegant white dress with a black leather jacket and boots which paired perfectly with the groom’s black suit and bow tie! The historic park has green lawns, paved walkways and a tall monument honoring American patriots (a favorite photography location in the Fort Greene area).
After their newlywed elopement photos in Fort Greene Park, the pair headed over to Prospect Heights for beautiful photos in the residential area of the popular neighborhood (we love the tree-lined streets and brownstones). Their NYC elopement ended with a celebratory dinner at Olmsted NYC, a Prospect Park Heights restaurant that features a living wall and lush garden (some of the menu’s ingredients are taken from the backyard garden!).
Our elopement team was honored to be a part of this intimate Brooklyn wedding celebration and wish David and Bora a lifetime of happiness.
