Sunday in Brooklyn Wedding
Elopements have come a long way! Long gone are the days of running off to Vegas for a quickie ceremony followed by a steak buffet after wards. More and more couples are taking the time to plan their elopement and include their family and friends in the process. Olivia and Zach hosted their intimate wedding celebration in the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn and personalized their big day to really reflect their unique style as a couple.
The adorable couple booked our 3-hr NYC elopement photography package to capture their fall celebration. Their ceremony took place in McGlormick park, a NYC public park in Brooklyn. The green space offers beautiful architecture like the historic Shelter Pavilion. The crescent shaped structure is made of limestone and brick and offers a dramatic backdrop for your wedding ceremony.
The bride was adorable in a tea length lace gown and Mary Jane heels. She wore a crown of wild flowers that matched her bouquet perfectly. Her groom, looked picture perfect in a blue suit jacket and twill vest with a sunflower boutonniere.
The couple tied the knot, literally, in a handfasting ritual in which the couple’s hands are tied together symbolizing their lifelong bond. After being pronounced Husband and Wife, our NYC elopement photographer captured a few portraits of the newlyweds with their family and friends and their adorable dog.
Greenpoint is home to several unique venues (like the Greenpoint Loft) offering couples a variety of spaces to choose from for their big day . Olivia and Zach chose Sunday in Brooklyn, a local 3-story event space to host their reception. The staff set up their reception space with rustic elements including fresh wild flowers set in Birch Bark vases and faux antlers! The newlyweds and their guests enjoyed cocktails on the rooftop followed by dinner.
We were honored to be a part of this beautiful elopement celebration and wish them a lifetime of happiness!
