Backyard Wedding
New York is full of both unique and traditional wedding venue options for engaged couples seeking a space to celebrate their big day. Our photography and video team have shot at most of the NYC locations (you can check out our extensive list here) but really enjoy capturing celebrations in casual settings like this one.
Gabriela & David contacted our studio seeking a package that would include 2 photographers and a videographer for their wedding in Sands Point, NY. The grooms parents owned a beautiful Victorian style-home and were excited to host the party in their backyard.
Our photographers started with the bride as she got ready in the upstairs suite.
Gabriela chose a flattering strapless gown accented with a crystal embellished belt and tiered skirt. Her bouquet was an assortment of seasonal flowers in hues of pink and peach.
The bridesmaids wore various styles of a blush-pink chiffon dress and the mother of the bride looked beautiful in a turquoise gown. Downstairs , David prepped for the big day with his groomsmen and looked great in a navy blue suit and grey tie.
After an emotional first look with dad, Gabriela met her groom in the garden for their reveal. The couple spent some intimate time together on the grounds as our photo and video team captured classic portraits of the pair while guests arrived .
The backyard was decorated beautifully with personalized touches like a DIY window pane seating chart and a wooden guest book for the family and friends to write on (what a great idea!)!
After the Ketubah signing, the couple exchanged personalized vows before their family and friends. Their ceremony also included traditional Jewish rituals like the blessing of the wine and glass breaking when the Rabbi pronounced them Husband and Wife.
Appetizers were passed as the sunset and guest changed into flip flops (courtesy of the Bride and groom) in preparation for the reception. The DJ announced the newlyweds and the party got started. Their night was filled with heartfelt speeches, great food and of course the Hora dance! Everyone had a blast celebrating with Gabriela and David and we were honored to be a part of their big day.
