Crescent Beach Club Wedding
We recently had the great pleasure of shooting the union of Liz & Steve at the beautiful Crescent Beach Club in Long Island, NY. NYC is a melting pot of cultures from all over the world. It’s the one place you can grab a bite of Baklava, a cheeseburger and Wonton Soup all within a block’s radius! (not to mention hear some really cool Merengue music on the way!)
Living and falling in love in a city as diverse as New York often means merging western and eastern traditions on the big day. This amazingly gorgeous couple (can you believe she does her own makeup!?) had a traditional American ceremony and later incorporated a Korean wedding ritual known as Paebaek into their vows. The ritual once served as a way to honor the groom’s family whom the bride would traditionally move in with after the marriage. The Red dots worn on the bride’s cheeks symbolize youth and purity. The couple bows before the elders of the family and give offerings of tea and rice wine in exchange for words of wisdom and blessings.
Before the ceremony the engaged couple started out with a first look at their home.
Liz wore a figure flattering sweetheart neckline ivory wedding dressed that cascaded into beautiful ruffles in the skirt. Her dapper groom sported a tan colored suit and (check out the perfectly spiked Mohawk) paired with a checkered handkerchief and pastel tie.
When choosing a package and creating a timeline for your wedding always remember to include extra time for the unexpected! Of course a wedding on a Long Island beach that is reminiscent of a beautiful Caribbean destination makes everyone slow down a bit to enjoy the view! We captured fun portraits of the Bridal Party and Groomsmen before heading over to the ceremony location.
Liz changed into another stunning dress before heading down the aisle. Everyone stayed cool on this summer day with the personalized wedding fans provided for all the guests. Afterwards everyone celebrated with a high-energy reception in the ballroom of the venue.
We were honored to share in this amazing wedding and really enjoyed the day that beach as well!
