Guastavino’s Wedding
Can you imagine working on your feet for 8 hours straight with nothing to eat? Add in a 6-pound camera, additional lighting, and strategically navigating between guests doing the Macarena to get that perfect shot, and you have the formula for disaster!
Brides.com lists forgetting to feed your vendors, as one of the top mistakes Brides make when planning their wedding. It’s an innocent enough mistake of course, between arranging for the floral delivery, coordinating the limos and sparkler send off.. it’s easy to forget to chat with your venue about vendor meal options. Fortunately for us, our amazing couples keep our team well fed! Well…except that one couple (who will remain nameless) that insisted we brown bag it..but I digress…
Among avoiding many other blunders like not tipping the wait staff and trusting Aunt Ida to bake your 3-tiered wedding cake, this gorgeous Bride should be the poster child for “how to throw the perfect wedding”. Not only did she avoid all the 50 mistakes listed in Brides.com’s article (we had plenty to eat!) she and her hubby made this extravagant affair look effortless.
Jennifer and Chris contacted our studio seeking a photography and video package that included an engagement shoot and printed wedding album. They were planning their wedding at Guastavino’s, a 59th street event space featuring soaring arches, high ceilings and a private outdoor garden.
We started with the bride at The W Hotel, as she got ready with her bridesmaids. Jennifer chose a flattering mermaid-style wedding gown with silk flowers trailing down the bodice of the dress. Her hair was elegantly styled in an up do complemented with a floral comb. Chris was dressed to the nines in a black tuxedo and bow tie.
The couple had their first look in the garden of the venue before heading inside for a romantic ceremony. They exchanged vows under a granite arch surrounded by rose petals and flickering candles. The party went off without a hitch as their guests enjoyed cocktails in the venue’s floating mezzanine as a live band serenaded them.
This was by far one of the most romantic and luxurious weddings our team had the honor of capturing and we wish the newlyweds a lifetime of happiness!
