Prospect Park Picnic House Wedding
Our team has become very familiar with this popular Brooklyn wedding venue, Prospect Park Picnic House. Besides being conveniently located within Prospect Park (no need to travel to additional locations for portraits and family photos) this venue is affordably priced and boasts floor to ceiling windows, hardwood floors and even a working wood fireplace! (Not to mention it’s easily accessible from public transportation) It’s a no brainer for couples who want to get married within New York City while taking advantage of the scenic views the park offers.
Rachel & Michael contacted us shortly after their engagement. They planned to marry at the Picnic House on Columbus Day weekend (very popular for weddings) and wanted an affordable photography and video package. Clearly head over heels in love, this adorable couple wanted their wedding photography to reflect the natural chemistry between them and capture the candid moments of their day.
Our team started at the Bride’s home, as she got ready. She wore a strapless lace dress with hand painted Mary Jane’s! (How unique is that!) In lieu of a wedding veil, Rachel topped her soft waves with a hand woven floral wreath that paired perfectly with her wedding bouquet of assorted wild flowers. Like many modern couples, Rachel and Michael chose to do a First Look in the park and spend some time alone before the guest arrived.
They took full advantage of the warm winter we experienced last year and held their Jewish ceremony outdoors. A live guitarist serenaded the couple as they exchanged vows under a wooden Chuppah and their family and friends watched. The nature inspired theme continued throughout their wedding and brought a warm and rustic feel to their reception. We love all the personalized details the couple included! (Check out that hand carved ring box and wedding plaque commemorating their big day!)
The humorous couple even provided entertainment at their reception with a parody of a scene from the popular movie “Dumb and Dumber”. The DJ kept the music going well into the night and everyone had a blast. Our team was so honored to have been a part of this beautiful union. Well wishes to the happy couple!
