MyMoon Brooklyn Same Sex Wedding
Since the legalization of LGBT marriages in NYC we have had the opportunity to capture countless amazing celebrations. Our photographers and videographers take great pride in being a part of such a special day for our fellow New Yorkers (and those from abroad like these stylish UK grooms). We have always believed in the mantra that “ Love is Love” and Nicole and Allison’s beautiful photos and videos will be sure to choke you up and make you want to celebrate with them !
Our photographer started with the happy couple in Brooklyn at the East River State Park . The waterfront park offered the perfect background for their portraits. Nicole was stunning in a strapless ivory wedding gown. She wore her hair down in romantic waves. Her soon-to-be wife looked picture perfect in a pastel pant suit with ribbon belt. Our photographer (a fellow brooklynite) loves shooting in Williamsburg. The area offers a great combination of scenic and urban settings with views of the Manhattan skyline and graffiti walls. Before heading over to the venue, the bridesmaids joined them for wedding party photos. The ladies looked great in grey chiffon knee length gowns.
Whenever possible we recommend having a first look before the ceremony. Having that intimate time to share on your wedding day before your guests arrive gives you the opportunity to capture relaxed portraits and even grab a drink (like Allison and Nicole did) before the wedding gets started. Add in the fact that you get to enjoy cocktail hour with your guests and it’s a no-brainer!
The ceremony took place outdoors at My Moon. Both Brides were walked down the aisle by their fathers before exchanging tear jerking (and funny) personal vows to one another. After wards the officiant pronounced the pair married and everyone enjoyed drinks and appetizers with the newlyweds. (we loved the mason jar idea!)
The venue offers a rustic setting inside with long reclaimed wood tables and original brick walls. Their décor was kept simple with fresh floral centerpieces and white linen.
The ladies enjoyed great speeches and well wishes from their family and friends and after a romantic first dance, Jason Derulo’s “Talk Dirty” song got the party started! Our team captured some pretty impressive moves from the Brides on the dancefloor (be sure to check it out in their video trailer! ) We had a great time capturing this awesome celebration and wish the happy couple a lifetime of happiness!
